Born and bred in Pembrokeshire I am very much a Pembrokeshire lass at heart. I have been at Pembrokeshire Tourism since it managed to get funding for staff, so I am the longest serving member of the staff and no I am not the one that knows everybody!
I just love working at Pembrokeshire Tourism as we are a great team and I think that Pembrokeshire has so much to offer everyone.
I'm from Cheshire originally and moved down here with my two children in 200I. I've been working for Pembrokeshire Tourism for 4 years on a part time basis and now work 4 days per week.
I love the area and am now a Pembrokeshire tourist guide which is a great opportunity to work with visitors by sharing my knowledge of the area.I love sport and run and cycle regularly and recently started swimming as well.
My claim to fame is that I was a contendor in "Gladiators"! ( a very long time ago!) My favourite things to do are coasteering, walking or running on the coast path and running in the Preseli's, the muddier the better!
I have lived in Pembrokeshire for nearly 40 years, my family having relocated back to my mother’s maternal roots in the 1970’s. I was educated in the county and my very first employment was in tourism, as a hotel receptionist in the city of St. David’s.
I am relishing the job in hand, whilst enjoying working closely within the well established team here at Pembrokeshire Tourism. It is great to be working with others who share my genuine enthusiasm for this beautiful part of the world we are all privileged to live and work in.
Whilst not originally from Pembrokeshire, I have lived here for over 20 years altogether, returning for good in 2004. I joined the team at Pembrokeshire Tourism initially in January 2012, working 4 days a week as Membership Officer, returning to a more full time role after working from home whilst caring for my young family. I moved up to the Chief Executive Officer role in May 2012.
My background has seen me experience the pace and variety of organisations such as Marks and Spencer within their management structure, to being a key member of the finance team for an award winning architect practice. In recent years I have been a partner in a local business, dealing with the administration, planning and development of the company whilst also managing a small team of staff, in addition to 'managing' my busy family!
I enjoy getting out and about in the Pembrokeshire countryside, and as a family we all enjoy outdoor activities, whether it’s walks on the beach or camping. As a Scout leader, I’m also able to share my love of the countryside with other equally enthusiastic young people through hikes, camps and other outdoor activities.
